First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR and welcome to 2017.
New Year resolutions? Usually a set of unrealistic ideals that one would like to achieve within the next year. No, they’re not all unrealistic and completely out of reach but a lot of people, like myself, look back and realise you didn’t complete any of them. Out of the four resolutions I made myself last year, I achieved one which was to start writing my book. Another was to book a skiing holiday, nope that didn’t happen, the other was to start a course of some kind. Although I haven’t started a course, I will be starting my Veterinary Nursing this year. Does this class as achieving the resolution because I wasn’t able to start last year? I don’t know, I don’t make the rules.
So, this year I decided to create some more realistic and achievable resolutions. My first, to complete at least 15,000 words of my novel. Stay tuned when it comes to my book by the way, I will be posting the first page once its polished and I’m happy with it. This won’t be for a while yet, but watch this space. Anyway, moving on, my second is to get my new tattoo. After thinking about what I would like for a year or so, I have decided what I want and have already started making enquiries. Last but not least, booking my holiday to Florida. I went in 2014 and it was by far the best holiday I have ever been on. I even had to drive over there, at that time I was 21, only just legal over there to drink. Driving over there was a whole new kettle of fish. But I did it and Im still alive, as are my sister and husband.
This brings me to my next resolution. I know I know, you’re thinking, but you’ve already told us your last resolution. This “resolution” is a private one, one i’ve not necessarily shared over social media. What is this resolution you ask? Of course its the obligatory lose weight/become fitter. Last year, I’m pretty sure I had the same resolution and if I did then I obviously ignored it as I ended up putting more weight on. It happens right? Im in a comfortable relationship, I’ve just got married and I have a home, it just so happened that I put on half a stone. I’ve decided to kick those generic excuses to the curb and at least become fitter. So far I’m not doing so bad, I lost 2lbs last week and have started running, so far so good. When you’ve been eating utter crap like I have such as, takeaways, crisps, chocolate, then you can’t completely cut them out of your diet otherwise you’re setting yourself up to fail. So I have one takeaway a week, on the weekend and maybe a handful of crisps every other day. Im giggling to myself writing this, but its working so far! Guess the cats outta the bag for this resolution.
All I’ll say for my readers is, resolutions are yours to make as big as you want. If you don’t achieve them this year then there is always next year. Good luck in all your quests.
